“Because Love is Nature”

Love — the quintessential value of our times.

You’d love to see it written on a wall,

or spoken softly

to an ear of empathy —

an ear of a lover,

a mother,

or a friend.

Something soft

is asking to be rooted into me.

Wet soil, full of life it is —

as I await the flowers to grow,

day after day,

year after year.

Patience awaits.

Kindness understands

the ever-growing nature of this plant.

A ship sails away.

What if it never comes back?

What if it’s meant to dance with the waves forever —

or wreck,

thousands of feet under?

What has come to be of my love…

I never would have imagined.

I never would’ve guessed

that love can grow

as tall as a vine,

a sequoia,

or the tree from the magic beans —

or sink

as low as the Mariana Trench.

Bless the ocean.

Bless the soil —

the motherly, nurturing soil

that my heart comprises of.

The ocean my heart dwells on.

The ocean my heart lies in.

Like a bubble rising to the top,

love can be realized.

Like a bird flying against the wind,

with powerful aerodynamic wings

bestowed on it by creation —

love can be realized.

Because love can grow underwater.

Because love can reach the sun.

Because love can overcome nature.

Because love *is* nature.
